Jay Chaney is a CSO and co-founder in Canada’s preeminent brand transformation agency Broken Heart Love Affair (BHLA), which was recognized by Adage on a global level as Silver Newcomer Agency and won Silver in Strategy Magazine’s Small Agency of the Year in its first year of operation. In 2 and a half short years during a pandemic, BHLA has re-platformed 9 brands, launching Cannes Lions winning Unapologetically Human for Kruger, the poignant Immortal for Royal Ontario Museum, and most recently ‘Keep It Cheesy’ for Cheesestrings, which reminded us all of our childhood appetite to trade for Cheesestrings.
In the past, Jay was known for his work on ground-breaking campaigns such as VS for SickKids Hospital, Our Food Your Questions for McDonald’s, and Bring Back the Bees for Honey Nut Cheerios. He is known for challenging the status quo, looking at the world through a slightly different lens and his ability to solve big problems, precisely and quickly. In his spare time, Jay contributes regularly to mentorship programs, teaching endeavours, and he currently sits on the board of the ICA.
